Limited edition, 1 of 26 lettered copies signed by Bukowski with a little drawing of his man and a bottle, this being copy "I". [n.p]: The Grenfell Press/Blackrose Editions, 1983. Tall letterpressed sheet, folded to create four pages. The first separate edition of Bukowski's first appearance in print, which appeared in the March-April 1944 issue of Story Magazine. On the front is a reproduction of one of Story editor Whit Burnett's rejection notes to Buk and the rear cover features Bukowski's reminiscing on the story's publication. The interior pages include the full text of the story. In fine condition.
