If I Ran the Zoo, Dr. Seuss
First edition, first printing of Geisel's tenth book, notorious for being one of the six books withdrawn from publication by the Seuss estate. All first printing points present: eight lines on the copyright page (per Younger/Hirsch), the correct seven titles listed on the back panel of jacket, "200/200" present on front flap.
New York: Random House, 1950. An admittedly rough copy, presumably used by a publishing company for a reprint, as there are penciled instructions, dimension drawings and annotations throughout. Binding is sturdy, although the lower third of the spine is missing. Boards shows some general shelfwear. Jacket is also in rough shape, with closed tears, chipping and areas of loss to panels and spine. Some general light grubbiness present. Unclipped with the price present, now protected in archival mylar. Increasingly scarce in any condition.
