The Doors of Perception, Aldous Huxley
First UK edition, first printing of one of the most influential psychedelic texts, detailing Huxley's experience under the influence of mescaline in May 1953. Huxley recalls the insights he experienced, ranging from the "purely aesthetic" to "sacramental vision", and reflects on their philosophical and psychological implications.
London: Chatto & Windus, 1954. A very good copy in a good, unclipped dust jacket. Binding is tight and sturdy, minor wear to boards with sunning to spine ends. Owner's name to flyleaf, offsetting to endpapers and scattered foxing internally. Jacket shows some shelfwear and chipping, with loss to the front panel and spine ends, toning and rubbing to rear panel, protected in archival mylar.
