First edition, first printing of Jackson's gothic masterpiece, in the original dust jacket designed by Paul Bacon.

New York: The Viking Press, 1962. Publisher's original crimson and cream cloth, spine lettered in crimson; pp. (x), 214. A near fine copy in a very good or better, unclipped dust jacket. Binding remains tight, sturdy and square with minimal shelfwear to boards. Owner's name to front pastedown, else internally clean. Jacket shows light general shelfwear and rubbing, protected in archival mylar. A nice copy.
