Hell's Angels: The Strange and Terrible Saga of the Outlaw Motorcycle Gangs
Hunter S. Thompson
First edition, first printing of Thompson's first published book, an up-close and uncompromising account of his experiences with California’s most notorious motorcycle gang, the Hell’s Angels.
New York: Random House, 1967. Publisher's original black cloth, stamped in silver and red, black topstain; pp. (viii), 278, [1]. A very good copy in an about very good, unclipped dust jacket. Binding remains sturdy and square, minimal wear and rubbing to boards. Owner's signature and stamp to flyleaf, closed tear and crease to one page, else internally quite clean and nice. Jacket shows light general shelfwear with the laminate lifting at a few spots, dampstain to the verso of the rear panel resulting in some faint rippling. Overall, a presentable copy of this Gonzo classic, protected in archival mylar.
