Horseman, Pass By, Larry McMurtry
First edition, first printing of McMurtry's first novel, inscribed by the author to Ted Fehrenbach, the American historian, columnist and former head of the Texas Historical Commission.
New York: Harper & Brothers, 1961. First printing indicated by the "D-L" code underneath the first edition statement on the copyright page. A very good copy in an about very good, price-intact dust jacket. Binding is tight, sturdy and square, minimal shelfwear to boards, scattered foxing to top edge of textblock and endpapers, else clean. The dust jacket, which remains bright and vivid, shows some light rubbing, chipping at the spine crown and joints, small pinhole at spine joint, a few closed tears and some creasing to the back panel, protected in archival mylar. A nice copy.
