Hustlers Convention, Lightnin' Rod (Jalaluddin Mansur Nuriddin)
Scarce first edition of Lightin' Rod's book of narrative poetry, adapted from the 1973 album of the same name. The album was a major influence on hip hop music, combining poetry, funk, jazz and spoken word and added a sociopolitical element to black music.
New York: Harmony Books, 1973. A very good copy in original wraps. Binding is tight and sturdy, light shelfwear and rubbing to wraps. Minor offsetting to half-title and a small spot of discoloration to the bottom corner of the last few pages, else internally clean.
