One, David Karp
First edition, first printing of Karp's dystopian novel, an indictment of totalitarianism which earned critical comparisons to Orwell and Huxley.
New York: The Vanguard Press, 1953. Publisher's original paper-covered boards over cloth-backed spine; pp. 311. A very good copy in a good, unclipped dust jacket. Binding remains firm, minor wear to boards with a small stain to the top corner of the front board. Internally clean and fine. Jacket shows shelfwear and rubbing, toning to the spine, a few closed tears with tape reinforcements to the verso, light dampstaining to the front panel. Protected in archival mylar.
