First edition, first printing of King's apocalyptic horror novel, with the T39 gutter code and the first state dust jacket priced at $12.95. Housed in a custom case.

Garden City, NY: Doubleday & Co., 1978. Publisher's original ocher paper boards, black cloth spine lettered in gilt; pp. (xii), 823. An about near fine copy in a very good, unclipped dust jacket. Binding remains sturdy and square, minor shelfwear to boards. Owner's partially removed bookplate to front pastedown, else internally clean. Jacket shows some general light shelfwear with a few minor stains, closed tear to the top of the front panel and also along the top of the front flap fold, minor dampstain to spine crown, protected in archival mylar. A presentable copy in a lovely case.
