First edition, first printing of Hemingway's third and final collection of short stories, six of which are published here for the first time. All first printings points present, including the Scribner's seal and "A" to the copyright page, in the first issue dust jacket priced at $2.00 and with Laurence Stallings's review of "Death in the Afternoon" on rear panel (Hanneman, A12A).

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1933. Publisher's original black cloth with inlaid gold paper labels to cover and spine, lettered in black; pp. (viii), 244. An about near fine copy in a very good, unclipped dust jacket. Binding remains tight and sturdy, minimal wear to boards with a touch of rubbing to gold labels with the front one a bit tarnished. Owner's name to flyleaf, light offsetting to endpapers, else internally clean. Jacket shows some general shelfwear and rubbing with chipping to extremities, a couple closed tears to panels. A presentable copy, protected in archival mylar.
