First edition, first printing, signed and dated by Saunders to the title page. For the last twenty years, Saunders has been teaching a class on the Russian short story to his MFA students at Syracuse University. In this work, a collection of seven essays, he shares a version of that class with us, offering some of what he and his students have discovered together over the years. 

New York: Random House, 2021. Publisher's original white paper-covered boards, spine lettered in metallic; pp. xii, 410, [7]. A very good or better copy in a near fine, unclipped dust jacket. Binding remains sturdy, bump to top of spine, light rubbing to edges of text block. Jacket shows just a hint of shelfwear, protected in archival mylar.
