Death in the Air, Agatha Christie
First American edition, first printing of Christie's classic "closed circle" mystery, featuring Belgian detective Hercule Poirot and Chief Inspector Japp solving a murder aboard a flight from London to Paris. The American edition preceded the UK by several months, which published under the title Death in the Clouds. Scarce with the jacket.
New York: Dodd, Mead and Company, 1935. Publisher's original grey cloth, stamped in red; pp. (viii), 304, [2]. A very good or better copy in a good, price-clipped dust jacket. Binding remains sturdy and square, traces of shelfwear to board extremities, small area of toning to spine, a bit of rippling to the spine cloth. Jacket remains bright and vivid, with some general shelfwear and rubbing, loss to the panels near the spine and the spine heel, minor stain to back panel. Protected in archival mylar.
