A Theory of the Consumptive Function, Milton Friedman
First edition, first printing of the Nobel Prize winning economist's first book, a foundational text in economics and arguably Friedman's greatest work.
Princeton, NJ: Princeton University Press 1957. Publisher's original blue cloth, spine lettered in gilt; pp. xvi, 243. A near fine copy in a very good or better, unclipped dust jacket. Binding remains sturdy with the slightest lean, minimal wear boards, scattered foxing to top edge of text block. Internally clean with no markings. Jacket shows light shelfwear with a couple tiny closed tears, traces of foxing with toning to the spine. A nice copy, scarce in the original jacket. Protected in archival mylar.
