First edition, first printing of Dahl's beloved children's novel and basis for two successful film adaptations. First issue with all requisite points present, including the six line colophon at rear and dust jacket priced at $3.50 with no ISBN.

New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1964. A very good copy in a very good, unclipped dust jacket. Binding is tight and sturdy, slight lean to spine. Light shelfwear and rubbing to boards with some scattered instances of discoloration, light thumbsoiling to a few pages, else clean. Jacket shows a bit of edgewear, traces of foxing, minor dampstain to the lower portion of spine, faint toning, protected in archival mylar. A nice copy which presents well.
