Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Hunter S. Thompson
First edition, first printing of Thompson's iconic second book and a defining work of gonzo journalism. Illustrated throughout by Ralph Steadman.
New York: Random House, 1971. Publisher's blind-stamped grey paper boards over black cloth spine, lettered in silver; pp. (x), 206. A very good copy in a very good, unclipped dust jacket. Binding remains sturdy and square, light shelfwear and sunning to board extremities, a couple droplets to top edge of text block, minor foxing to text block edges. Internally clean. Jacket shows light shelfwear with a couple closed tears, a few small burn marks to back panel, presumably from a cigarette, which would be appropriate. Presents well protected in archival mylar.
