First edition, first printing with a laid-in typewritten letter signed by King. The letter, dated January 21, 1981, is on a 5.5" x 3.5" heavy card stock paper with the recipient and King's address to the verso. The letter reads, in part: "Thank you for the good words about Firestarter – glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for suggesting Will Sampson as Rainbird, but I won't be involved with the movie production of that one. I will bbe working on The Stand with the director, George Romero – I've done the screenplay. The next book is called Danse Macabre, and is a non-fiction work on. horror. The next novel, Cujo will probably be out this fall."
