Marihuana, William Irish (pen-name of Cornell Woolrich)
First separate edition, following its original appearance in Detective Fiction Weekly in 1941, with fantastic cover art by Bill Fleming. Published at the height of the reefer madness craze, with Federal Bureau of Narcotics commissioner Harry Anslinger disseminating stories depicting the drug causing "insanity, criminality and death," Marihuana hits all the tropes, following a young man who goes on a murder spree after being exposed to marijuana for the first time.
New York: Dell Publishing Company, [1941]. Good or better, showing general shelfwear, rubbing and creasing. Owner's label affixed to verso of front cover, else internally clean and sound. Scarce.
