Murder in the Bookshop, Carolyn Wells
First edition, first printing
First printing of the classic bibliomystery in which "murder stalks among the rare and valuable volumes of a shop that caters to book collectors" and a book worth $100,000 has gone missing. Fortunately, Detective Fleming Stone is on the case.
Philadelphia: J.B. Lippincott Company, 1936. Red cloth boards with black lettering, top edge of text block burgundy. A very good or slightly better copy in a very good, unclipped dust jacket. Binding is sturdy, slight lean to spine. The bottom edge of textblock shows some uneven cutting from production, with a few small pieces overhanging and vice versa. Internally clean and free of markings. The dust jacket shows light shelfwear, rubbing and toning with a few small closed tears. Scarce.
