Solo Faces, James Salter

First edition, first printing of Salter's brilliant fifth novel that captures the obsessions that drive mountain climbers. Inscribed by Salter on the title page. Also laid in is a handwritten letter by Salter to writer Michael Perkins describing one of Perkins' reviews, Salter's travels and his desire to meet Perkins. In the original stamped envelope.

Boston: Little, Brown & Co., 1979. A very good copy in a good, unclipped dust jacket. Binding sturdy, front board slightly bowed, light shelfwear and a few minor spots of discoloration to boards. Internally clean. Jacket shows some shelfwear and rubbing with a few closed tears, protected in archival mylar.
