The House on the Borderland and Other Novels, William Hope Hodgson

First edition, first printing of this important compilation of four novels by William Hope Hodgson, edited by August Derleth with a brief introductory essay by H. C. Koenig and a bibliography by A. Langley Searles. In the striking dust jacket designed by Hannes Bok, which is in remarkably nice condition.

Sauk City, Wisconsin: Arkham House, 1946. Publisher's original black cloth boards, spine lettered and decorated in gilt; pp. (xii), 639, [1]. A near fine copy in a near fine, unclipped dust jacket. Binding remains tight, sturdy and square. Minimal wear to boards, with traces of rubbing to the spine and a tiny tear to spine crown. A touch of offsetting to endpapers, else internally clean and fine. Jacket is bright and vivid, showing just a touch of wear to the flaps. A very nice copy, protected in archival mylar.
