First edition, first printing of Dara’s debut novel, winner of the 12th Annual FC2 Illinois State University National Fiction Competition judged by William T. Vollmann. Widely believed to be using a pseudonym and giving no interviews nor press photographs, Dara has gone almost totally unacknowledged by the commercial American literary community and has been called “the best-kept secret in all of contemporary American literature.”  

Normal, IL: FC2, 1995. Original yellow cloth boards, spine lettered in black; pp. 476. A near fine or better copy in a near fine, unclipped dust jacket. Binding remains sturdy and square, minimal wear to boards, internally clean and fine. Jacket shows just a touch of shelfwear with the usual sunning to spine and front panel. Scarce, protected in archival mylar.
