The Road Through the Wall, Shirley Jackson
First edition, first printing of Jackson's debut novel, a semi-autobiographical account of her childhood in California. From the library of Larry McMurtry, with his bookplate affixed to the front pastedown. New York: Farrar, Straus and Co., 1948. A very good copy in a very good, unclipped dust jacket. Binding is tight, sturdy and square, faint dampstain along spine and a portion of the rear board, minor shelfwear to boards. Internally toned, with a small stain and erasure marks to flyleaf, else clean. Jacket shows a bit of wear with a few closed tears and light chipping, dampstain along verso of spine. Protected in archival mylar and housed in a custom slipcase.
