The Rocket to the Moon, Thea von Harbou

First American edition, first printing. Originally published in German in 1928, von Harbou's novel served as the basis for her husband Fritz Lang's 1929 film Woman in the Moon, often considered to be one of the first "serious" science fiction films. Scarce in the original jacket.

New York: World Wide Publishing Co., 1930. Publisher's original maroon cloth, gilt stamped decorations to spine and cover; pp. [8] 11-187, [2 ads]. Translated by Baroness Von Hutten. A very good copy in a fair dust jacket. Minimal wear to boards, pages toned with a bit of chipping to the top of the first few pages, a bit of webbing exposed on rear hinge but still secure. Jacket shows loss to the bottom of panels and spine, chipping to other extremities, tape to verso visible on front panel, protected in archival mylar.
