The Stand, Stephen King
First printing of Stephen King's post-apocalyptic masterpiece centering around a weaponized strain of influenza. All first edition points present: 'First Edition' stated on copyright page, T39 gutter code to page 823, jacket priced at $12.95, 35-line quote from the book to the back panel, and the author's blurb mentioning only Carrie, The Shining, Salem's Lot and Night Shift.
Garden City, NY: Doubleday & Co., 1978. About near fine in a good+, unclipped dust jacket. Binding is tight and sturdy, trace of rubbing to spine, internally clean with no markings. Jacket shows some general wear with a few closed tears, sticker removed from front panel, some staining and a pinhole at rear spine joint, reinforced at the joints on the verso, protected in archival mylar. A presentable copy, increasingly uncommon.
