Tik-Tok of Oz, L. Frank Baum
First edition, first state of the eighth Land of Oz book, adapted from Baum's 2013 stage play "The Tik-Tok Man of Oz" and featuring the first maps printed of Oz to the endpapers. New York: Reilly & Britton, 1914. Octavo, pp. , 272; complete with twelve colored plates and thirty-one full paged black and white illustrations by John R. Neil. The blue cloth boards show shelfwear and rubbing, exposed corners and a bit of loss to spine heel. The colored pastedown on the front board is scratched and rubbed. The spine, with black stamped titles and a head drawing of Tik-Tok, shows rubbing with the cover threads wearing thin. Hinges appear to be reinforced, with the rear hinge cracking but still sound. Internally, a small handful of closed tears and bits of loss to pages, a smudge here and there, but internally quite attractive. First state points include the list of six previous Oz titles on the verso of the half-title.
