Who Goes There? John Campbell
First edition, first printing of Campbell's first collection of short stories, perhaps best known for its titular story which formed the basis for John Carpenter's 1982 sci-fi horror classic The Thing.
Chicago: Shasta Publishers, 1948. Publisher's blue cloth boards, spine lettered in gilt; (viii), 230, [2]. A very good or better copy in an about very good, unclipped dust jacket. Binding sturdy, light shelfwear and discoloration to boards, small scrape to edge of text block. Internally clean. Jacket shows a bit of edgewear with chipping to extremities, an area of tearing and loss with crimping to back panel, spine lightly toned, protected in archival mylar. Presents well.
