Chariot of Flesh, Malcolm Nesbit

Rare edition of Alfred Chester's pornographic beatnik novel, written under the pseudonym Malcom Nesbit, inscribed on the verso of the front cover – "To Sonny __(?), Happy Birthday / Best wishes from your dear friend "The Author" / Malcolm Nesbit." This copy, published by Keimeisha in Tokyo, is undated and potentially precedes the novel's first formal appearance in Olympia Press in 1955 (Keimeisha published Henry Miller before he was able to publish in the US due to smut laws).

Tokyo: Keimeisha, [circa 1952]. Yellow wrappers with red lettering, pp. 202. Sunning to wrappers and spine, foxing to front panel, spine lifting a bit in spots with minor loss, general light shelfwear and creasing with a closed tear to front panel. Rare.
