Our guarantee

The Rare Book Sleuth guarantees the authenticity and completeness of every item as described. Significant defects, restoration, and missing components are disclosed in the description. If an item is materially different from its description or its authenticity is in question, please contact us promptly. We will arrange its insured return and issue a full refund, including the original delivery charge and reasonable return-shipping costs.

Domestic shipping

Books shipped within the United States include complimentary USPS Media Mail. Priority Mail and other faster services are available at checkout. Tracking and full insurance are included, and signature confirmation is available upon request.

Careful packing

Every book is wrapped in protective material and bubble wrap, packed in a sturdy cardboard box, and given additional protection as needed. For oversized, especially valuable, time-sensitive, or otherwise unusual shipments, please contact us before ordering to arrange custom shipping.

Returns

Books may be returned for any reason within 30 days of receipt. Please contact us before sending a return. The book must be returned in the same condition in which it was received, carefully packed, tracked, and insured. The buyer pays return shipping for an ordinary discretionary return. A refund is issued after the returned book is received and inspected.

International orders

International orders may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, brokerage charges, or other fees imposed by the destination country or carrier. Unless expressly shown and collected at checkout, these charges are not included in our prices or shipping charges and are the buyer's responsibility. Customs processing may also delay delivery.

Lost or damaged packages

If a package is lost or arrives damaged, please contact us promptly and retain the book and all packaging. The Rare Book Sleuth will handle the carrier and insurance claim. If a return is necessary because a book was materially misdescribed or damaged in transit, the buyer-paid return-shipping rule does not apply.
