The Teahouse of the August Moon, John Patrick
First edition, first printing of Patrick's theatrical adaptation of Vern Snieder's 1951 novel, a Broadway hit, running for 1,027 performances and winning awards including the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best American Play of the Year, the Pulitzer Prize in Drama, and the Tony Award. Inscribed by Patrick to the flyleaf and signed by by all the cast members from the original Broadway production on November 28, 1954, as well as Gerald (Jerry) Ito, who was a Villager replacement, and Barbara Luna, who was replacing Mary Ann Reeve that evening.

Binding remains sturdy and square, board extremities rubbed, internally clean. Jacket show general shelfwear and chipping, a few closed tears, faint dampstain to back panel. Protected in archival mylar.
