Autograph free frank, signed (likely in a hurried hand) “J.W.D. Dundas,” London, January 18, 1838, addressed to J.W. Hall Esq., with docket on the verso identifying the sender as “Capt. W.D. Dundas M.P., 9 Baker St.” With a red circular postage stamp.
Measures approx. 4.5" x 3". In very good condition, light wear and toning, mounting adhesive residue to verso, mailing fold. Protected in an archival sleeve.
A scarce example from Dundas’s years in Parliament, prior to his later fame as Admiral Superintendent at Portsmouth and Commander-in-Chief in the Crimea.
