Allen Ginsberg's tape recording of Dr. Trogawa Rinpoche's lecture entitled "Tibetan Approach to Modern Diseases." Number 1 of 17, dated 6/26/1989. Both the cassette and the case are written in Ginsberg's hand.

Dr. Trogawa Rinpoche (1931–2005) was a Tibetan-Buddhist physician and lama known for combining traditional Tibetan medicine with compassionate clinical practice, working extensively with patients and carrying a subtle sense of humor in Western and Tibetan contexts. Ginsberg served on the board of the Chakpori (Tibetan medicine) organization associated with Trogawa Rinpoche, alongside others interested in Tibetan culture and healing. In 1989, Trogawa Rinpoche was invited to New York by the Shambhala Center, where he taught for a week and worked with patients. This was presumably recorded during that time.

Case in good condition, writing is bold and clear. Tape plays well, writing on the tape label is a bit rubbed and faded.
