Sunday After the War, Henry Miller
Second edition of Miller's collection of previously unpublished stories, essays and other prose pieces. With a fantastic inscription to the flyleaf: "Signed, endorsed and validated as to quality, place of residence, I.L. (?) et cetera. / Henry Miller / 1/14/27 / Toward midnight". Second edition denoted by the lack of a dot between "Norfolk _ Connecticut to the title page, in a first issue jacket with blue-green lines and Miller's bust in rust (Shifreen & Jackson, A35a/b).
New York: New Directions, 1945. Publisher's original cream-colored cloth, spine lettered in red; pp. 330. A very good copy in a very good, unclipped dust jacket. Binding remains sturdy and square, minimal wear to boards with a bit of toning. Owner's details to flyleaf above Miller's inscription, else internally clean. Jacket shows light shelfwear with a couple chips, spine fold a touch offset, protected in archival mylar.
