Crash, J.G. Ballard
First UK edition, first printing of Ballard’s controversial novel about car-crash sexual fetishism, basis for the 1996 film directed by David Cronenberg. In the original and iconic dust jacket designed by Bill Botten.
London: Jonathan Cape, 1973. Publisher's original blue cloth, spine lettered in gilt; pp. [vi], 7-224. A very good copy in a very good, unclipped dust jacket. Binding remains tight and sturdy, minimal wear to boards. Owner's inscription to flyleaf, else internally clean and fine. Jacket remains bright and vivid with general shelfwear along the extremities and the common lifting of the laminate along the spine. A presentable copy, protected in archival mylar.
