Go Down, Moses, William Faulkner
First UK edition, first printing of Faulkner's collection of seven pieces of short fiction. Published just a couple months after the US edition and printed to "conform to the authorised economy standard" due to the war, copies in decent condition are quite scarce.
London: Chatto & Windus, 1942. Publisher's original green cloth, spine lettered in gilt; pp. (vi), 7-268, [2]. A near fine copy in a very good or better, unclipped dust jacket. Binding remains sturdy and square, minimal wear to boards, owner's bookplate to front pastedown else internally clean. Jacket shows just light shelfwear, with a bit of toning and rubbing to spine, protected in archival mylar.
