Clarion: Writing at Amherst
First edition of Wallace's first published short story, appearing in Clarion, the Amherst College student literary journal. Published in 1985 and written during his senior year, the seven-page story was incorporated into his debut novel, The Broom of the System. The story is attributed to "Dave Wallace" while the staff credit reads "David Wallace." One of an unknown number with no copies traced at auction. Rare.

Tiny bump to top edge of backstrip, very small and faint foxing spot near top of front panel, hints of rubbing and toning. A remarkably well-preserved copy, rare in any condition.
