Sixteenth Report of the Directors of the African Institution

First edition of this abolitionist report documenting the continuing international slave trade and efforts to suppress it fifteen years after Britain's abolition of the trade in 1807. Includes the proceedings of the annual meeting of May 10, 1822 and extensive documentary appendices. The meeting urged international recognition of slave trading as piracy.
